Lewis County High School head football coach Dustin Cogar has been in place since the summer of 2015. His current record as head coach is 29-33 in his six seasons. The Minutemen made back to back WVSSAC State Playoffs appearances under Coach Cogar in 2018 and 2019. Prior to being named the head coach, he served as an assistant coach for 8 seasons, seeing his duties progress from coaching the Defensive/Offensive lines to calling defenses and special teams coordinating.
Coach Cogar graduated from Lewis County High School in 2002 and continued his football career at Fairmont State University, where he was a four-year letterman on the offensive line and special teams for the Fighting Falcons.
Coach Cogar also serves as one of the Assistant Principals at Lewis County High School. Coach Cogar lives in Lewis County with his wife Hanna and their four children Jacksen, Landry, Hendrix and Sayler.
